Regional Attorney Perspective

National JFON has four Regional Attorneys who serve as staff immigration attorneys at their own JFON site and who also devote ten hours per week to providing legal support to the JFON attorneys within their region.  These Regional Attorneys assist JFON sites with various aspects of running a legal program and undertake legal projects beneficial to the network as a whole.

To be able to work as a Regional Attorney with the many talented and passionate professionals within the JFON network is an honor and a pleasure.  I am constantly inspired by the dedication of our Site Attorneys, Site Directors, Clinic Coordinators, Boards, and volunteers.  It is a privilege to work within the JFON team in pursuing our mission to welcome our immigrant neighbors.

As a Regional Attorney, I enjoy pursuing capacity building projects to assist Sites as we strive for excellence in the services we provide.  Through the development and implementation of sound policies, high standards, and best practices, our aim is to more effectively serve our clients, advocate for their rights, and educate our communities on the moral significance of our mission.  Whether it is through developing innovative case strategies with Site Attorneys or assisting Site Board’s with programmatic developments, our goal is to support Sites in their fight for justice.

The need for affordable immigration legal services is as great as it has ever been.  Far too many people are denied justice because they lack the guiding hand of counsel to navigate the labyrinth that is our current, broken immigration system.  This is the why the work done at Sites throughout the JFON network is so crucial and why I am grateful to serve the network as a Regional Attorney.
